Happy New Year everyone!  I have partnered up with Coupons.com, and some of my favorite bloggers, to help you kickstart your new years resolution with a $500 gift card to Amazon!

2013 for me was a challenging year.  Not a bad one mind you, but a the kind that takes all your mental and physical energy.  It has been a year of change and working hard.  Actually really starting at the end of 2012 with our engagement, continuing with an increased amount of freelance work (no complaints here), buying our first home, and ending with hosting both Thanksgiving and Christmas for the first time.  It has been a big, good, hard year and I'm ready to welcome 2014.  With it though, I have a few things I need to start working on and have started to plan out a few more concrete things I can do to get there:

  1. Plan our wedding.  Really planning has already started and let's be honest, I have most of the details in my head and on my secret Pinterest board.
  2. Focus on my health again.  After having played soccer at a high level for most of my life culminating in playing in college, my body was always in amazing shape and combined with eating well I was at my peak.  To be honest though, after school, I needed a break and relaxed my workout routines a bit.  I'm not concerned about weight or size, but want to get back to feeling powerful, energetic, and balanced. I've decided to focus on a few actionable items: (a) drink more water, (b) work out 3-4 times a week including both cardio (running with Odin and weight bearing exercises), (c) take the Bon Appetit food lover's cleanse, (d) buy and use a juicer.
  3. Keep in better touch with my family and friends.  It's not that I don't, but I often let myself get caught up in the "I'm busy" excuse and postpone that phone call to the next day. This year I plan to set aside a period of time once a week to make a long distance, just because call and write one random handwritten letter per month.
  4. Finish several professional goals (these are secrets for now!).
  5. Simplify my life by getting rid of clutter including a massive yard sale and master a weekly menu planning including a prepping and cooking ahead of time!
What is your new years resolution and how would you use this giftcard?

  1. I was eyeing the Bon Appetit food lover's cleanse last year and think I might need to actually give it a try -- it looks absolutely delish so there's really no excuse!

  2. I am going to try to read 100 books in 365 days (that's a book every 3.65 days!). I would use the Amazon gift card to stock my virtual and real book shelf!

  3. I'm going to study hard (going back to school in 11 days, after 16 years!), remember to send birthday cards to friends and family, and commit to exercising 3 times a week. :D Thanks for the giveaway!

  4. Oh, and I'd use the gift card to buy myself some boots!

  5. I resolved to clean more/be more organized. I could use the gift card for some of the home stuff I have on my wishlist. And some books because one can never have enough of those.
