Julip Made quote
When I was little, I was the kid who knew all of the present hiding spots and my parent's joked had an airport security scanner hidden in her bedroom just to figure out what all the gifts were.  Eventually I realized this must have been, to say the least, a not so welcome trait for a kid to have.  More so, I began to realize the purpose and magic of this season lies not in the materials gifts and decorations we are told we need to have or buy, but in spending time with loved ones, being grateful for the blessings we do have, and showing kindness to those in need.  Don't get me wrong, I still love surprising my family and friends with thoughtful gifts that I know will bring smile to their face and brighten their day and thus why I share my gift guides with finds from those searches.  However, this concept and this quote are always a good reminder to us in this busy season of glitz and glam.  My point is with the stresses and pressures that often come with this time of year, don't lose sight of the true purpose behind the holidays!

  1. Over the years I've come to appreciate finding the perfect gift for someone else more than any gift given to me -- there's just something so heartwarming about finding something (material or immaterial) that you just know will make someone's face light up.
