Julip Made October quote October is my month and not just because my birthday or one of my favorite holidays falls within it.  For me, it is a pre-holiday period of productivity.  The weather has finally dropped to where I want to cozy up inside and #GSD although we'll still be doing some outdoor prep in our yard including putting in a new fence and planning/ prepping the garden for next spring.
There are also a few other projects that I will finally have some time to dedicate to and hopefully share with you soon!  Otherwise my fall to-do list is below:
  • Get in the habit of making 1 or 2 big batches of soup a week to have for dinners, lunches and snacks throughout.
  • Share some house updates with you all (we have been BUSSSY BEES).
  • Get back into the kitchen now that it is finally set up and come up with a few new seasonal recipes.  Think apples, pears, squash, pumpkin, and mushroom.
  • Break out my dark nail polishes.  Navy is the new black (sort of).
  • Set up a fire pit in our backyard.
  • Rewatch the entire Hannibal series and welcome back the new season of Walking Dead.
  • Hike in Rock Creek Park with Odin now that it is practically our backyard!
  • Enjoy our first year with a door where Trick-or-Treater's will actually come!
  • Start baking bread again now that turning on the oven is bearable.
What's on your fall to-do list? Do you have any soup or fall recipes to recommend?

  1. I love your first goal! Soup is so much fun to make in the fall. This is a favorite one of mine to make: http://peachesandcake.com/sunday-night-special-curried-roasted-butternut-squash-and-apple-soup/

  2. That is one of my favorite fall quotes! And YES about the soups. I've been putting more and more on my meal planning calendar right now :)

  3. October is one of my favorite months ! Especially because the autumn feeling
Got to start thinking about my own list for the month.
    Lovely quote

  4. I have such a ridiculous number of fall recipes on my to-do list, I should probably just start stockpiling squash and sweet potatoes and applies now! Can't wait to see more of your new home's evolution too, I'm in the trenches getting mine unpacked and can't wait to get to a point of styling it!

  5. I am right there with you on October as the "pre-holiday" season. I love October and usually my to-do(s) involve watching some of my favorite movies from childhood (Hocus Pocus) to the more classic When Harry Met Sally and buying anything fall-themed from Trader Joe's.
