DIY Winter Beauty: Wake Up Coffee Body Scrub

Julip Made DIY Winter Beauty coffee body scrub5 The bane of my existence in the winter since I was a wee one has been and will continue to be dry skin.  At the same time, the bane of my daily existence is waking up in the morning.  This DIY coffee body scrub combats both of those woes.  The combination of coffee and peppermint provide a refreshing wake up call in the shower, while at the same time exfoliating skin and adding some much needed moisture.
Julip Made DIY Winter Beauty coffee body scrub1 Ingredients:
  • s4 tablespoons ground coffee (you can use "used" grounds, but I used fresh)
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract

  1. In a small bowl mix coffee, brown sugar, olive oil, and peppermint extract.
  2. Once well mixed, use as a body scrub in the shower.
  3. I stored mine for up to a week in a jar in the fridge, but given the ingredients, I'm sure it would last a bit longer.

  2. Love this! I've been making a homemade scrub from salt, brown sugar, honey, and vanilla extract to use in the shower. I also swear by Crabtree & Evelyn's Citron, Honey, and Coriander scented hand and body creams. Looks like I'll be trying this scrub over the weekend!

  5. I've never seen this concoction before! I'm going to give it a try. I use shea butter and coconut oil non-stop in the winter. Sadly, I don't think it works as well as synthetic moisturizers but I feel better about using it on my skin and I love the smell of coconut oil.
