DIY Winter Beauty: Lavender Oatmeal Face Mask

Julip Made DIY Winter Beauty lavender oatmeal face mask3
Even though you don't usually start seeing lavender in the stores around here until late spring, early summer, there is just something about the freshness of it that makes me think spring and rejuvenation.  This DIY lavender face mask brings that feel and rejuvenating aspects to your face.  It is super easy to whip together and the dry ingredients can be stored pre-mixed for a quick at home facial anytime.
Julip Made DIY Winter Beauty lavender oatmeal face mask Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup powdered buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1/3 cup dried lavender buds (you can also buy loose lavender tea and use that)
  • 1/4 teaspoon honey (really just a drip or two)
  • 2 drops lavender essential oil
  • water as needed

  1. Mix the dried powdered buttermilk, the cornmeal, the oatmeal, and the dried lavender.  This can be stored and the wet ingredients added when you want to use it.
  2. In a small bowl, mix approximately 2 tablespoons of the dry mix with the essential oil, honey, and a splash of water.  Use enough water to form the mask into a paste.  See image above.
  3. Spread on face, working into pores.  Leave on for a minute or so and then wash off with lukewarm water.
PS.  This is the last of the DIY winter beauty series.  Is this something y'all liked?  Do you want to see more of this in the spring and summer?

  1. This was fantastic! I'm a new reader and will definitely be checking out the other posts. Seems like this would make a nice, not too harsh, scrub as well.

  2. Excellent blog right here! I was just searching for this information for a while. Very effectively written information. There is obviously a lot to know about this. I think you made some good points in Features also.
