Rosemary Ginger Lemon Shandy

010 This shandy is a classic that my grandfather use to drink all the time when we'd spend sweltering summers up in the Eastern Townships of Quebec.  It can be served with or without beer and is just as good with both.  This past weekend was one for the record books with even Odin not wanting to go outside.  After an outdoor excursion, we came inside and made giant Mason jars full of these to watch the Euro Cup.  See more after the jump for ingredients and recipe...
002 Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup lemonade
  • 1/2 cup ginger beer
  • 1/2 cup beer (optional, but highly recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary simple syrup
  • rosemary sprig for garnish
  • lemon slices for garnish
  1. Mix lemonade, ginger beer, beer, and rosemary simple syrup over ice in a large glass (mason jars work really well too).
  2. Garnish with rosemary sprig and lemon wedges.
  3. Enjoy!
Full disclosure... I was fully intending to drink the virgin version of this, but then watching the European Cup got the best of me and I added a beer after I had drunk about half of it.  Sooo much better!
PS.  I'm being featured today over at Mimi + Meg sharing with you a few of my favorite hidden and not so hidden treasures of DC in My DC.  I had such a great time with this girl and always get the best advice and inspiration from her so make sure to browse around while there!
