Down the Rabbit Hole...

061 This is as close as I come to an Easter theme drink and it was all precipitated by the fact that I bought carrot juice in an effort to have a healthier drink option. I got to wondering, what else can be done with carrot juice, more specifically, how can it be mixed as a cocktail, thus defeating the initial healthful purpose. Ok confession, I also bought the carrot juice because my eyes have been getting wiped out/ bleary from staring at a computer all day and in my random/ crazy mind, drinking carrot juice would counteract this.  Reality... I probably need glasses.
Any who, ingredients and recipe after the jump...
064 Ingredients:
  • 1 ounce gin
  • 3 ounces carrot juice
  • 1 ounce lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary simple syrup
  • dash of Peychaud's bitters
  • rosemary sprig for garnish
  1. To make the rosemary simple syrup: In a small saucepan, heat up 1 1/2 cups water, 1/2 cup sugar until sugar dissolves completely.  Throw in several sprigs of rosemary (3-4) and simmer for 5 minutes. Turn off heat and let steep for several hours.
  2. To make Down the Rabbit Hole: Mix gin, carrot juice, lemon juice, rosemary simple syrup, and peychaud's bitters in cocktail shaker with ice.
  3. Strain into glass.
  4. Garnish with rosemary skewer. Enjoy!
060 What is your favorite holiday cocktail?  Do you like me have any strange health beliefs and if so what are they?

  1. Super cute. I would say in the summer my favorite is Sip & Go Nakeds. (lemonade + vodka + beer and its delish). The befit is that it gets me white girl wasted.
