Bloody Marylena...

121 What is a Bloody Marylena you might ask? It is my crazy concoction of Bloody Mary and lemonade mixed.  I started off by seeking to make plain Bloody Mary's, but was finding that my tomato juice concoction was for some reason too heavy for my tastes at that moment.  So, to lighten up the drink a bit, I added some lemonade.  The sour and sweetness play well with the spiciness of the tomato juice and the salt of the half sour pickles and olives that were added.  The olives and pickles were another addition that came from our lack of celery and the need to balance out the sweetness of the lemonade.  Try it and see for yourself!
Ingredients and recipe after the jump...

122 Ingredients:
  • 1 oz vodka
  • 2 oz tomato juice
  • 2 oz lemonade
  • dash of Worcestershire sauce
  • dash of hot sauce (Tabasco works well)
  • dash of celery salt
  • dash of pepper
  • lemon wedge (for garnish)
  • blue cheese stuffed olives
  • half sour pickles, cut into pieces

  1. Mix vodka, tomato juice, lemonade, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce in a shaker.
  2. Season with celery salt and pepper.
  3. Serve in a glass over ice.
  4. Garnish with lemon wedge and pickles and olives on a skewer.
Overall I was pleased with the result.  Let me know if you try and it and what your conclusions were.  Do you like the Bloody Marylena or will you be sticking to the standard Bloody Mary for now?
