Project Apartment: The Kitchen

028
I mentioned in this post, but I've been meaning to photograph my apartment since I made my 25 for 25 list way back in June.  Well finally, I'm getting around to it.  Better late than never right?  Given the nature of my blog and my stomach, I think it is only appropriate that I start with the kitchen.  If you missed it, I compiled some kitchen styling inspiration here that was the basis for how I styled and photographed my kitchen.  Given the space and rental limitations I had to work with, I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. Note that some of the less aesthetically appealing items (read Odin's dog bowls, dog food bin, trash can and dirty dishes) were removed before shooting.

Behold where the magic happens.  I know this phrase typically refers to the bedroom, again if you know anything about us... food/ stomachs rule our thought processes.

  2. OMG. You aren't going to believe this...but I looked at that photo and I thought, um who took a photo of our house in Cardiff? We have that same cart from IKEA, the pans hanging above and I have that Around the World book! Our colander is red though. Sigh I miss that little beach cottage. We've since moved and my kitchen doesn't look like this. Granite countertops, cherrywood cabinets. YAWN. No originality. God that sounds completely awful, I shouldn't complain AT ALL, but honestly I'm waiting for the day till we can afford our own place and I can decorate like you have again. Whew...I let loose there. Haha.

    1. Haha, I love Ikea and as you can tell, our entire kitchen is Ikea storage. It fits within our budget, has awesome storage solutions, and looks pretty good too, what is not to love? Your beach cottage sounds adorable!!

  4. I love it! You've done so much with a small space - much like what we all have to cook in at this point in our lives. I think it is so great that you're a closet foodie and it looks like you have a blast cooking every night. You should totally do a post on kitchen essentials - what a home chef actually needs!

    1. Thanks Kelly! Working on getting the rest of the place up to snuff... Re the bottles... nothing exciting during this shoot, just water. However, when I'm entertaining I'll put things like mint water, lemonade, etc...
