Kitchen Styling Tips...

This weekend I finally decided to make good on my promise back with my 25 Before 25 and start to style and photograph my apartment.  Don't get too excited because it is still going to be a slow labor intensive process.  Read Alaina's post here to find out a bit of the effort that goes in behind the scenes.  Before I started, I took the time to search for inspiration and styling tips on every corner of the interwebs.  Here are a few of the key points I surmised from my search specifically related to how to style your kitchen.  Also, disclaimer that I am not a professional stylist, just some of my musings. Come back later this week to see the results of my kitchen styling session and see below for some more tips.

Overall, make sure your kitchen is CLEAN, use fresh ingredients (flowers, lemons, fruits), and finally make it look like a place one could actually cook/ eat in!

  4. I love how bright everything looks! I live in a basement apartment, so I'll just have to dream of that natural lighting until I get up the nerve to move... ha! Great photos.

    1. Thanks for the comment Erica! I have to say that natural light was the biggest factor in our last move and it really does make all the world of difference.

  5. My tiny kitchen wouldn't hold half of those things, but it's so fun to dream! I love displaying lemons - hadnt thought about other produce though! Maybe I'd grab and snack from there instead of wheat thins...

    1. It'd also be nice to have a fridge fully stocked with pre-cleaned/ cut produced in clear Tupperware organized a la Martha. Then, maybe then, I'd turn to carrots instead of less healthy options.
