Looking in my closest this morning, I was struck by how many clothes I have that are "work" clothes. I need to start shopping for multi-functional pieces that are appropriate for work, but flexible enough to be worn on weekends and for fun times. This weekend, we'll be vineyard hoping, apple picking, pumpkin carving, and bonfiring for my birthday. I'm thinking the outfit on the left would be appropriate for these adventures that is if fall would behave and act like it (aka don't go up to the 80s). The gingham shirt fits this description perfectly because it can be dressed up with pumps and a pencil skirt, or due to it's casual pattern, dressed down with jeans and boots.
What are your favorite "workhorse" pieces? Any fun plans for the weekend?
