Progress... A Before and After

julipmade321

We moved into our new place this past April and everything has been slowly, but surely coming together, everything except my closet that is. Above is the sad state of affairs that is/ was my main closet (I keep my dresses/ jackets in the hall closet and have a shoe book case in the bedroom). However, this week, I decided NO MORE. I turned off the Bachelorette re-run I was watching and decided to go OCD on my closet.

First everything was cleaned out... then second hanging bar (thank you Target) was installed with the help of the Boy (thank you Kev).

Then I transferred all of my clothes over to the new pretty hangers, arranged them by color, then type within color, added a few bins for t-shirts and scarves, put an extra shoe rack up top for flats and rarely used shoes, rolled in a wheeled container to act as a catch all and hung up my pretty home-made skirt.

In other apartment news,  Odin is thoroughly enjoying "his" new spot aka our new chaise attachment.  It gives him the perfect view of Dog TV aka watching squirrels in the tree outside our window.
I know this is not that exciting of a before/ after, but trust me it is making a world of difference for my morning routine.  What projects have you been putting on the backburner lately?

  5. It is most *definitely* exciting because I know how fantastic a freshly organized closet is! Nothing make me happier than looking at my closet right after I have cleaned it all up!

  7. Great job!! Doesn't it feel good to have completed that?!? On my to-do list tonight and tomorrow is our coat closet. It's SCARY and odds and ends have been living in there for way too long. I'm sure I'll procrastinate a bit longer, but it's something that needs to be dealt with :)

  8. I can't even THINK about all the projects I have sitting around because it stresses me out. But, to play along, they include: getting a flea market table refurbished, making some pillows out of this amazing fabric I found in LA, also reorganizing my closet, and getting some new drapes for our bedroom.

Instead of doing these things, I've been blogging and watching Real Housewives. Priorities, you know? :)

PS, love your little lime green bubble skirt!

  11. I love reorganizing, it does do wonders for the routine and relives stress. I see that you use all the same hangers, I am the same way. Although i use the skinny thin hangers bc I have a very small closet, but all the same hangers. That happened my last closest overhaul. :)

Bella has a spot on our couch, right on top of the corner so she can stare out at the birds (4 stories up, she doesn't enjoy the animals...)

  13. I totally need to redo my closet! everytime I walk in there I feel stressed out. Could this be why I'm not dressing as stylish as I should be? Maybe stylish, organized closet will lead to tylish, organized life? A girl can hope.
