Coming soon to a Julip Made Party near you...

Blueberry, pomegranate, strawberry, mango.
... home made flavored vodka.  The first DIY from my previous inspiration post I attempted was home made infused fruit vodkas.  My thinking was that by making the ingredients for some cocktails, I could have some fuel to get the creative juices flowing to do other DIY's and if I let them sit for the recommended month, they'll also be ready in time for my 4th of July Bash.

The ingredients... didn't end up using the thyme or lime.
Step 1. Wash fruit.
Step 2. Trim peels, leaves, etc...
Step 3. Place in jar.
Step 4. Fill jar with alcohol and cover.
Step 5. Let sit for 1 week to 1 month depending on how potent and fragrant you want it.  Then enjoy in some sort of pretty cocktail like these babies.

As for now, these guys are sitting in my kitchen cabinet, infusing with fruity goodness.  I'm starting with basic recipes and then once I get the hang of it, I may go on to some fancier combos like jalapeno tequila or thyme-lemon vodka.  I'll let y'all know how they turn out.  What flavor combo would you do?

~ Julie

PS. I know this has been a boozy week so far.  I promise non-alcoholic posts coming tomorrow.

  1. YUM! I once had a martini made with jalapeno infused tequila and made 'dirty' with olive juice and the juice from pickled jalapenos. It sounds so terrible, but it was spicy, salty and served ice cold, super refreshing.

In short, I'd go with jalapeno tequila!

  2. I'm perfectly happy with the alcoholic posts! The pomegranate looks divine!

  3. I've been dying to try this with blueberries and strawberries! The pomegranate looks incredible.

  4. Yum! These look delicious and so pretty.

  5. these look so good! I am always amazed by your creativity! xo

  6. Hey Julie!! These look fabulous!! What fun. A jalapeno sounds really cool - not sure if it would be amazing or disgusting though. Try it and let me know :)

  7. This is a pretty awesome way to kick off your DIY phase! I say party at your place for the 4th!!! If nothing else, they sure look purdy! (c:

  8. Looks delish! I want to do this too!

  9. ummmm.....that's INCREDIBLE! I'm bookmarking this post for sure :) I think the strawberry would be up my alley. SO pretty and fun! Hope all is well! xoxo {av}
